The staff is compassionate. They are doing a great job during these hard times.
However, the facilities are in need of updating.
Overall my experience was decent. One thing I'd like to point out is their lack of concern when a patient is in obvious distress. I had an out patient procedure that required sedation. First off, nobody warned me that I would have trouble breathing and start coughing. After they stuck the device in my mouth, my body was in an immense amount of pain. I kept trying to tell them and ask for help. Instead they kept holding me down and told me to stop talking. I was obviously panicking and in distress. Yet, no one bothered to see what was the issue. If I have a choice, I will use a different hospital for out patient procedures. Not my favorite experience but not my worse.
I made an appointment yesterday 8/1/20 for the ER at 6pm yesterday. When I got there a young kid told me this is the ER we don't make appointments. I showed him my confirmation number he then said someone said him we not honoring the appointments. I told I wanted to speak to someone else because he already lied to me a he went and got a security guard and she told me they were to busy to honor the appointments. Isn't this why you make appointments and reservations ? I will never gathered again.
To all staff and Dr. at Memorial Hospital, I want to thank you all for taking a very good care of my mom, specially her nurses, my mom got very ill from COVID, and we weren’t able to see her while she was at the hospital, but the nurses were very nice to her and took care of her all the time she was there my mom is very grateful, and we her sons and daughters have no words to say Thank You! You all answered our calls everyday and gave us hope, it is true that you are heroes and deserve many blessings in your life. You all are on our prayers and even though we don’t know any of you in person you all are part of our lives, Thank You! again for doing everything you could for my mom she’s home now recuperating thanks to God and to all of you!!

We had to urgently bring in our son at 28 days old due to a high fever (if your baby is under 30 days with a fever you’re supposed to bring them in - I didn’t know that!).
We started in the ER and ended in the NICU. Every nurse, doctor, & staff treated us with such consideration and respect. Our stay was a little over a week which felt like an eternity, but we felt so assured that we were at one of the best hospitals. We have a follow up appointment this week and I trust that we are in the best hands possible with those at Rady’s.
Side note: the cafeteria is decent and the Ronald McDonalds house is such a place of commodore. My heart doesn’t wish any mother or child to be at a specialist hospital, but if needed, I would recommend Rady’s 100x over.

This address is next to the buliding where Zraiah Sabio is staying at.
If you care about the life of your child do not take your child here or to this ER. My son was grossly misdiagnosed and this might forever affect his life. Look for reliable specialists that are unbiased and have a documented history of long-term excellent ratings and success.
I acknowledge that everybody's experience is different. Ours was not positive and might have ended up with a much worse outcome. We will definitely not return here and will share our experience with friends and family.
The staff here are basically angels in disguise. Every single person we interacted with has been so kind and wonderful. They totally respect your decisions with your personal birth plan which is amazing. If you’re going to have a baby definitely come here!
Being new to San Diego area and searching for a great hospital I chose Mary birch hospital. By far the best birth experience I’ve ever had. This is my 3rd delivery But first time at Mary birch. From the moment we started at triage the care was amazing and painless. They are up to date with all this new technology and painless medication. Never had experience a painless Ivy. I usually never look forward to getting my Ivy started. But here at Mary birch I was given numbing medicine before ivy that made my ivy painless. Also having a nurse that knew what she was doing. Labor and delivery felt like a 5 start hotel. Nurse Tricia was very quick attentive and caring she was on a roll. My anesthesiologists I forgot his name was amazing as well he made magic happen once I had my epidural. Painless contractions giving the best delivery experience. Special thanks to the midwife who was available to deliver my son. Despite my Ob never showing up. The midwife made me feel comfortable and safe. We literally met just that night. Thank you so much for taking care of me and him. 3 pushes and he was out! In postpartum I can’t complain my room and restroom were always clean. Nurses all attentive to me and my son. Nurse Priscila and Frances were sweethearts they are gifted nurses you don’t find caring nurses like them anymore very caring. Nutrition staff thank you for all the healthy delicious food I never stayed hungry throughout the day. Me and my husband looked forward to each breakfast, lunch, dinner date we had in our room. Today is my last day here and I will never forget this experience. If you are looking for a great, caring up to date hospital don’t continue looking elsewhere come to Mary birch highly recommended!
Absolutely awful standard of care. The way they called to tell me my daughter was there was so scary. Just asked if I had a daughter, long pause...Is her name ———-?”....Long pause...
they wouldn’t say what was going on until I finally said: “You are making me nervous. Can you just tell me what’s going on?” Surely they could find a better way to handle that call.
Staff very unresponsive, unprofessional and disinterested in patients. My daughter spent over a week there and in that time so many unacceptable instances. Doctors will not return calls. Many patients are too sick and/or sadly have no family/visitors to monitor care. This is why they get away with this.
Having said all this, there are a FEW caring and dedicated staff, but they are very much in the minority.
The best care and service ever. The RT, RN, CNR, physical therapists, and case manager are very professional, cooperative, patient, kind, supportive and helpful. They just treat the patient as if he/she were a family member. I recommend this hospital to everyone. Thank you so much Select Specialty Hospital
Very slow nurses and doctors only one out of the many was a great nurse.
Alvarado Hospital ER doctor was extremely kind and tended to my problem immediately. Thank you to the entire staff for your dedication, kindness, professionalism and being the best at your jobs.
I sent a package to a friend hospitalized there. The patient received only 1 of the items in the package. The other $60 of merchandise mysteriously disappeared. When I contacted administration I was told "there's nothing we can do." I am in the process of filing a complaint of mail tampering with police. Can you imagine if they are stealing from patients, what else they could be doing?!

They really did a good job taking care of me. My appreciation and my thanks go to the Doctors and the Nurses on the sixth floor of Scripps Mercy.
